What is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau is an injectable neurotoxin that temporarily smooths frown lines between the brows and helps prevent them from forming again in the future. Our team at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery in Greenville, South Carolina, has been providing patients with safe, effective botulinum toxin treatments like Jeuveau for two decades.
Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA)? is an effective, SAFE INJECTABLE BOTULINUM TOXIN that’s FDA-approved to address glabellar and frown lines. It’s a recent addition to this particular category of cosmetic treatments. Since Jeuveau isn’t as expensive as Botox, it’s often recommended for patients who are trying neurotoxin injections for the first time.
Like Botox, Jeuveau is a neuromodulator made from botulinum toxin type A. When injected, Jeuveau paralyzes the facial muscles that cause certain wrinkles, softens existing wrinkles and preventing new ones from forming.
Benefits
Jeuveau treatments help our clients achieve:
- Smoother wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes
- Minimized lines in the center of the forehead
- A younger appearance and improved complexion
- Lasts up to 6 months, making it one of the longer-lasting neuromodulators on the market.
Treatments with Jeuveau are convenient and don’t require downtime afterward, so it’s easy to return to your everyday activities right after your appointment.
Why We Use Jeuveau
At Advanced Cosmetic Surgery, we use Jeuveau for its long-lasting efficacy. Jeuveau is one option in our toolbox of neuromodulators. We’re confident it delivers satisfying results.
Jeuveau vs. Botox
So, why choose Jeuveau over Botox? While it’s not approved for use in as many treatment areas as Botox is, Jeuveau is an effective solution for glabellar lines and crow’s feet. It’s also less expensive than Botox, making it easier on your wallet.

What to Expect from Your Jeuveau Treatment
Arrive at your appointment with clean skin if possible. You’ll recline comfortably on a padded treatment table while your provider cleanses and disinfects your skin; you may request a topical numbing cream if desired.
Your provider will prepare vials of Jeuveau based on how many units you need for the treatment areas, then perform the Jeuveau injections. It only takes ten to fifteen minutes, on average, to complete Jeuveau treatments.
Recovery and Aftercare
Jeuveau injections don’t require downtime. Once your appointment is over, you can resume your day as usual.
However, it’s important to avoid rubbing or pressing the injection sites in the hours following the appointment. Doing so can cause the botulinum toxin to move away from the treatment areas, causing muscle paralysis in other parts of your face.

Ideal Candidates for Jeuveau
Good candidates for Jeaveau are adults who wish to improve the appearance of crow’s feet and glabellar lines. These are the only FDA-approved uses for Jeuveau.
Off-label uses for Jeuveau (which other botulinum toxin injections may also address) include:
- Abnormal sweating. Neurotoxin injections can treat abnormal sweating, also called hyperhidrosis, by preventing specific nerves from activating the sweat glands.
- Frown lines. These fine lines and creases appear over a lifetime of frowning, laughing, smoking, and smiling.
- Vertical neck lines. Botulinum toxin injections can smooth pronounced lines and help better define the jawline.
- Migraines. Injectable neurotoxins such as botulinum toxin can ease the symptoms of persistent migraine headaches in some individuals.
- Muscle spasms. Since it’s a muscle relaxant, botulinum toxin is sometimes used off-label to ease muscle spasms.
- Teeth-clenching or grinding (bruxism). When injected in the jaw muscle, botulinum toxin can relieve clients who grind their teeth.
Depending on your concern and the goals you want to achieve, your doctor will choose the best botulinum toxin injections for you.
Avoid Jeuveau injections if you’re allergic to prabotulinumtoxinA or other forms of botulinum toxin. The treatment sites should be infection-free and without existing muscle weakness or swelling.
