What is Radio Frequency Skin Tightening?
Radio frequency (RF) skin tightening sculpts the face and body through a number of minimally invasive treatments. These treatments fall into two broad categories: RF microneedling and RF-assisted lipolysis (RFAL).
RF microneedling uses electrical energy to heat the skin. This heat tightens the skin’s underlying structure, stimulates collagen and elastin production, and can even eliminate fat. It can also resolve surface irregularities such as acne scars or stretch marks. It’s primarily performed on the face.
RFAL also tightens the skin but simultaneously eliminates subdermal fat with a heated cannula. It can be performed on the face or body.

Dr. McFadden is absolutely outstanding! Over the past 10 years, he has performed numerous cosmetic procedures on me, and he has never failed to impress. Previously, I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair done by another surgeon at a different practice, but I was dissatisfied with the results, even after a revision. In November, I chose to have the same procedure performed by Dr. McFadden, and the results have been nothing short of remarkable! The photo to the left shows my abdomen one year after the initial tummy tuck, during which I experienced distension and hardness from day one post-op, with no changes over time. I was continually told by the first surgeon that it was merely swelling and fascia issues. The photo to the right, taken just 10 weeks after my tummy tuck with Dr. McFadden, highlights a significant improvement. As you can see, I am already quite flat despite some lingering swelling. Radio Frequency Microneedling Services
We offer three treatments that combine RF skin tightening with microneedling to fight signs of aging, enhance your complexion and correct skin irregularities on the face and body.
Fractora
Fractora is a stamping device that uses RF-heated microneedles to create microlesion “dots” across the face. These microlesions combined with the RF heat kickstart your body’s healing response and help it start producing more skin-firming collagen.
Fractora addresses any skin surface irregularities from acne scars to wrinkles. Most patients undergo three sessions spread out over 4–6 weeks.
Morpheus8
Sometimes called a nonsurgical facelift, Morpheus8 is an RF microneedling treatment that penetrates more deeply than Fractora. The increased depth allows Morpheus8 to target subdermal fat in addition to brightening and smoothing surface irregularities. As a result, Morpheus8 can firm the jawline, neck and loose facial skin, as well as reduce deep wrinkles.
Most patients require between one and four Morpheus8 treatments, each approximately 3–5 weeks apart. Regular upkeep every 6–12 months may be necessary to maintain your firmer, brighter complexion.
Morpheus8 Body
Morpheus8 Body harnesses the same technology as the original Morpheus8 in a device that effectively treats larger areas of the body and penetrates more deeply into the skin.
It’s uniquely suited to address skin irregularities on the chest, arms, legs, abs and buttocks, including stretch marks and cellulite. While a single treatment does generate significant results, we usually recommend up to three sessions spread out over 3–5 weeks.
Radio Frequency-assisted Lipolysis Treatments
We offer multiple RFAL treatments, each optimized to eliminate unwanted fat and tighten the skin in specific areas of the face or body.
BodyTite
BodyTite is a minimally invasive body contouring technology. The dual-action RFAL procedure tightens the skin’s surface while simultaneously destroying fat cells with a heated cannula inserted beneath the skin.
BodyTite is most effective for healthy people with stubborn fat on the abs, arms, buttocks, neck or upper legs. It can be paired with traditional LIPOSUCTION to further reduce fat in overweight patients. BodyTite requires only a single procedure, and continues to tighten skin for up to a full year. Results are typically long lasting, provided you do not gain weight.
FaceTite
FaceTite is a minimally invasive alternative to a mini facelift or neck lift with additional skin-brightening benefits. It improves skin texture and complexion in the lower half of the face, jaw and neck while eliminating subdermal fat. Results are FDA-approved to last for 1 year, but many people report the effects last up to 5 years.
AccuTite
AccuTite is a smaller version of FaceTite developed for small or hard-to-reach areas such as eye bags, eyelids, nasolabial folds, jowls and knees. It offers identical benefits as FaceTite.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is radio frequency skin tightening safe?
This treatment is considered very safe. Both RFAL and RF microneedling carry fewer risks of complications than traditional liposuction and laser treatments. Side effects are minimal and include redness, swelling and tingling. Reduce the risk of undesired side effects by choosing a reputable establishment for your treatment.
Does it hurt?
These treatments are performed under light sedation, local anesthetic, or simply a numbing cream, depending on the service. During your session, you may feel a pinching sensation and the feeling of heat, but most people find it very tolerable.
How long do results last?
RF skin-firming treatment results usually last about a year, at which point you might consider scheduling a follow-up session to maintain your youthful look. Fat loss from RFAL is considered permanent, provided you don’t gain weight.
How is radio frequency skin tightening different from a laser?
RF waves are of a lower frequency than a laser’s light waves. This property means they penetrate deeper into the skin without the risk of overheating the dermis. Additionally, these treatments are safe for all skin tones, whereas many lasers are not.
What is recovery like from BodyTite?
After your BodyTite session, you’re usually cleared to drive after 1 day and should be back at work in 1–3 days. You’ll need to wear a compression garment for 3 weeks post procedure, after which point you can resume exercise and strenuous activities.
How Much Does Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Cost?
