Fall Skincare Tips!

As the crisp, cooler air of fall rolls in, it's the perfect time to give your skincare routine a seasonal refresh.
While we may welcome cozy sweaters, pumpkin lattes, and cooler temps, our skin often feels the shift in weather — sometimes in the form of dryness, dullness, or irritation. But don’t worry — with a few smart tweaks, you can keep your glow going strong all autumn long.
Here’s how to transition your skincare routine into fall, with a focus on hydration, protection, and balance.
1. Hydration, Hydration, Hydration
Lower humidity and cooler air can strip your skin of its natural moisture, leading to dryness, flaking, and sensitivity. This is the season to lock in hydration and nourish your skin barrier.
Pro tips:
- Swap lightweight summer moisturizers for richer creams or barrier-repairing formulas.
- Add a hydrating serum under your moisturizer for a double layer of moisture.
- Don’t forget your lips and hands! Keep a balm in your bag to prevent dry, cracked skin in those delicate areas.
2. Switch to a Hydrating Cleanser
A gentle, hydrating cleanser is your skin’s best friend in the fall. Foaming or gel cleansers that worked in the summer might now feel a little too stripping.
Look for:
- A proper cleanser will remove impurities without leaving your skin feeling tight or dry — the goal is clean and comfortable.
3. Yes, You Still Need SPF – Every Day
Just because the sun isn’t as intense doesn’t mean UV rays are gone. UVA rays — the ones responsible for premature aging and skin cancer — are present year-round and penetrate through clouds and windows.
Fall SPF tips:
- Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily
- Layer it over your moisturizer in the morning
- Don’t forget areas like your neck, ears, and the back of your hands
- Make sunscreen a non-negotiable — your future skin will thank you.

Bonus Fall Skincare Tips:
- Exfoliate… but gently – One to two times a week is enough to slough off dead skin and reveal a brighter complexion. Over-exfoliating can make dry fall skin worse.
- Book a seasonal facial – Fall is a great time to reset your skin with professional treatments and customized care.
Transitioning your skincare routine for fall is all about restoring balance and protecting your skin from the seasonal shift. Think: more moisture, gentle cleansing, and year-round sun protection. A little extra care now goes a long way toward keeping your skin healthy and radiant through fall and beyond.
